In a series of legal setbacks within the last 24 hours, Arvind Kejriwal, entangled in a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam, faces his third major disappointment. Following the rejection of his plea challenging his arrest and custody by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday, and the dismissal of his petition related to legal representation by the Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday, the Supreme Court delivered yet another blow to the Delhi Chief Minister. Kejriwal’s immediate appeal against the Delhi High Court’s decision will not be entertained by the Supreme Court this week, compelling him to wait until next week for a hearing.

The Supreme Court announced that no special bench would be constituted for Kejriwal’s case, eliminating any possibility of a hearing before Monday. This decision comes on the heels of the Delhi High Court’s ruling on Tuesday, which validated Kejriwal’s arrest and custody, rejecting his arguments and dismissing his plea. Additionally, the Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday morning rejected another petition from Kejriwal, which sought permission for him to meet with his lawyers five times a week, as opposed to the current allowance of only twice a week.
