Gavai, has recommended the transfer of several Chief Justices and senior judges across High Courts. The decisions were finalized during a collegium meeting held on May 26, 2025.
Major Transfers of Chief Justices
Reflecting the collegium's ongoing efforts to enhance judicial efficiency and diversity of experience across the courts, four Chief Justices are poised to take charge in new jurisdictions:
Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, presently the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, is recommended for transfer to the Madras High Court.
Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, currently leading the Tripura High Court, is set to move to the Telangana High Court.
Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, the sitting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, is proposed to take charge as Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court.
Justice K.R. Shriram, who currently serves in the Madras High Court, is recommended for transfer to the Rajasthan High Court.

Born on November 17, 1964, in Suryapet, nestled in the Nalgonda district, Justice T. Vinod Kumar’s journey through the legal world has been one of quiet dedication and steady ascent. From his early days in Suryapet and Hyderabad to earning his B.A. and LL.B. degrees from Osmania University, his path has been rooted in academic diligence and professional integrity.
He enrolled with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in 1988 and began his legal career under the mentorship of senior advocate Ravi. Over the decades, Justice Kumar honed his expertise in public law and taxation matters. His keen understanding of the law earned him appointments as Senior Standing Counsel for the Income Tax Department (2015) and Special Standing Counsel for Commercial Tax (2016) — roles that reflect his legal acumen and public trust.
Elevated to the bench of the Telangana High Court, he took oath as a judge on August 26, 2019, bringing with him decades of experience and a reputation for fairness and clarity in judgment.
